For 20 years, ELH Construction LLC—ELH’s affiliated General Contracting company—has been tasked with rehabilitating, renovating and building affordable housing. As a GC, ELH has led the ground-up construction of new affordable rental and affordable homeownership projects, converted abandoned and physically obsolete buildings into new affordable housing and undertaken the rehabilitation of distressed assets at the behest of housing agencies.

Our decade-plus track record of successfully marketing affordable housing projects and conducting affordable housing lotteries on behalf of HPD, HDC and HCR sets us apart.

Our staff, many of whom benefit from extensive prior experience in the public sector, take great pride in connecting New Yorkers with new affordable rentals and homeownership opportunities. We are fully versed in Housing Connect and a wide range of subsidy programs, in addition to being certified Tax Credit Specialists.

Throughout its portfolio, ELH pursues strategies to prolong affordability and provide access to services for residents of underserved communities. The firm is especially proud of its work to convert two individually-designated landmarks into affordable rental homes, thereby preserving a part of New York City’s history while advancing its modern-day housing goals.

ELH serves as a General Partner on a range projects, from the large-scale development of city-owned land to the acquisition and preservation of existing affordable housing.

ELH is pre-qualified by the City of New York to act as a developer, property manager, general contractor, marketing agent and buyer on a range of HPD, HDC and NYCHA projects. ELH has been evaluated based on its ability to acquire and rehabilitate privately-owned regulated, rent stabilized and unregulated properties to ensure responsible property management, ownership, and long-term affordability for New Yorkers in need.
