For decades, Manhattanville Houses has been a cornerstone of West Harlem—a neighborhood defined by its rich cultural heritage, strong sense of community, and enduring resilience. Home to more than 2,600 residents, the campus has long provided affordable housing while serving as an anchor for generations of families.
Today, Manhattanville Houses is entering an exciting new chapter through NYCHA’s Permanent Affordability Commitment Together (PACT) program. Backed by a $445 million investment, the redevelopment will comprehensively renovate all 1,272 apartments while modernizing building infrastructure, restoring building façades and balconies, upgrading elevators and security systems, expanding community spaces, and revitalizing the campus’s open areas with new landscaping, play spaces, seating, and recreational amenities. The work will preserve the property’s historic character while ensuring it remains a safe, healthy, and affordable home for generations to come.
